Our Little Tauntaun

Edison has been pretty low key so far. I can't remember if Edy was this calm his early in her life, or if she just got high maintenance as she got older in her infancy. I also don't remember Edy making as much low key noise as Edison does. When he is going to sleep or waking up, or a lot of times in between, he snorts and mews and grunts practically nonstop. I need to figure out how to post a recording. We affectionately refer to him as out little Tauntaun - you need to watch Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back if you haven't heard of this reference. It's that creature Luke and Han ride around in the first 15 minutes of the film that, coincidentally, snorts and mews a lot. :-)

Doing her nails

This was Edy's second time to get her toenails painted. She now has some fabulous sparkles on the left foot and some hot pink on the right courtesy of Auntie Ann. I can't wait to paint her toes alternating colors next time and just blow her mind.
She thought it was the best thing ever when Dad showed her that the hair dryer could dry her toenails really fast.

You kids get off my lawn!

It seems to me a lot of very young babies look a lot like very old people (or turtles), and mine is no exception on boy counts. I can see this expression on Edison's face as he's sitting on his front porch at 96. Maybe they'll call him "Old Man Edison", that would be cool.

More E

Edison is getting stronger every day. You'll notice in the first photo, his head is not on Mom's shoulder. He's been holding it up for 30 seconds or a minute at a time already. He's growing so fast, he almost doesn't look like a newborn already.

Swedish Pancakes

Edy and I hit Swedish pancakes with my mom and the LFs last Sunday. A good time was had by all. Edy and D did their usual dancing, and they even got in on the dance floor train. Mom really enjoyed the pancakes, so she now understands why we have been going there every month for the past 4 years.

Mom and Edison

From about 3 days ago...

Be careful what you say, Episode 1

Edison was waking up from a nap and making some cranky noises. Edy hears him and yells across the room "Time to get out the boobs!"

Edison at 2 weeks

He gained 23 oz in the past week and is already up to 10 lbs, 5 oz. The doctor says he is very strong, already almost holding his head up on his own.
He also smiled for the first time today, while looking at himself in the mirror while the doctor was holding him up in a sitting position. I could read his mind, he was thinking, "Damn, I look good."
Wish I would have got a picture of that. Here is is hanging out on the living room floor.

Two of my favorite 3 people in the world...
