Edison's First Swing

I can't believe I forgot to post this! Edison went for his first swing last weekend at the Northgate playground. I was a bit cold, as you may be able to tell. He was swinging next to Edy. To be honest, I couldn't tell if he liked it or not. He wasn't super excited, nor was he complaining or upset. I chose the pics that show him the most excited, but most of the time he just looked bored.

Edy at the Pool

I forgot to post this last week. Edy got a new swimsuit for swim class. It is a size 4, which I assumed would fit her for the next year, but it is already a bit tight on her. She is doing well in swim class. This term, she is in a class of all girls, she is he smallest, (and I think the youngest) but is still ahead of one of the other the girls in the class in terms of ability. I was a little worried because I pushed her out of the little kids class and into this one because she was so far ahead of the other kids in the lower class, and I didn't think she was learning anything. She still loves the water, - I'm hoping she'll be swimming well enough to snorkel with me in Hawaii next year.

What to do, what to do?!

Edy spontaneously went to Grandma's to spend the night. Edison is sleeping. Mom is at Grandpa Stan's for dinner and a few hours after. Dad is a bachelor with 4 hours or so of free time in his own house in the early evening. What do
I do?!?

Reasons it's all worth it #3

Mom and Dad and Edy have been reading Guess How Much I Love You - which is a book where Big Nutbrown Hare and Little Nutbrown Hare try to top each other in saying how much they love each other. They say things like "I love you as high as I can reach", and "I love you over the river as far I can see".

So I am putting Edy to bed tonight after we get back from
swimming, she is so tired she fell asleep in the car on the way home. We read a story and I sang her a song, and start to walk out the door. As I leave I say good night and "I love you, Sweetie" as I always do.

But before I get out the door, she says to me,
"Daddy, Daddy, I love you as much as the whole world."

That's pretty close to the top of the list.

Edison Sleeping "through the night"

Since the technical definition is a 5 hour stretch, Edison has been sleeping through the night for the past few days. To be specific, he is sleeping 6:pm to 3:am - a good long stretch, but he still wakes up at 3:am, an unfortunately, stays awake for about an hour. But well get the sleep where we can take it.

He's cute, isn't he?

Show and Tell

At dinner yesterday, we asked Edy what she told her class about her Little Mermaid Band-Aid, the object she took school for sharing (show and tell) day. If she said this I don't know, but she told us:
"She has red hair, a green tail, and purple breast nuts."

I laughed for two minutes.
