Took this 30 seconds ago

That's Edy in the middle of the hot tub at the end of the pool. Works out great because she gets cold in the pool, jumps in the hot tub to warm up, then back in the pool.

Our home for the week

This is a map of where we are staying. We are at the Beach Villas on lagoon 2. We walked to the Marriott and ate dinner at lagoon 1 night before last (see prior post), and Tashana and I went to the Disney resort last night for drinks after the kids went to bed.

Decent snorkeling not too far from our room. Saw three turtles in our lagoon. Biggest was about 2 1/2 feet long across its shell. Angel fish, trigger fish, trumpet fish, red fish, blue fish, old fish, new fish.

Night before last

We went out to eat at a hotel that had rays and hammerhead sharks swimming around in their pools (not the ones you swim in). Good dinner, great sunset on the walk home. We actually watched the sun go down, literally saw the last bit of sun dip behind he horizon. I don't remember he last time I actually saw that happen. It was kind of odd.

View from our Deck on day 2

That is the ocean beyond the palm trees. Sorry for the poor iPhone photo. Not a bad morning view. We have been getting to the beach by 8:30.

Travel Day

Rough travel day to Hawaii. Flight was scheduled for 9:30 AM departure, so we got up at 5:30 to get on the road by 6:30 to be at the airport by 7. Of course we stayed up until midnight before getting packed to go. Our friends the LFs let us borrow their car to pack the night before and drive us the the airport.

In the car about 6:45 getting ready to pick up our driver, Tashana gets a text that the flight has been delayed until 1:PM. The whole family goes to breakfast (rather than eating breakfast in the airport after check in as planned). Edison goes home and takes his nap (rather than napping on the plan as planned). We scramble to find a ride to the airport that will work with Edison's nap, LF plans, and new departure time. Finally figure out we need to take a cab. Unpack LFs car. Wait 1 hour.

Airline calls, says part came in early, and flight will leave as soon as you get here. Thanks goodness that was only 15 minutes before the planned cab pickup time, so no rescheduling. Get in van to got to airport. Check in, security, get on plane, all went well since they are basically waiting on us.

Edy flew like a champ, we read, watched iPad, colored, looked out the window. Edison wanted to get up and move around. Thank goodness they plane had empty seats we could climb all over and run through. Couldn't get him to nap again, through we got close. Through it all, no crying and minimal whining. Pretty good overall. 6 1/2 hour flight.

Get off plane at about 6:30 PM Seattle time. Take shuttle to get rental van. Wait at rental place for 1 and 1/2 hours to get van due to an understaffed front desk. (Let kids play in dirty parking lot for 1 1/2 hours, because really, what else is there for them to do?)

Find pizza pickup on the way to hotel. Get to hotel, get key to room, inside, eat, bath, etc, finally kids to bed by 9:30 Seattle time for Edison and 10 for Edy. Everybody exhausted. But the kids did really great all things considered.

Kids up at 7:00 AM sharp Seattle time next day. That's 5:AM Hawaii time.

Edison's Dinner

This is what was left of Edison's dinner the other night. One one bite of his drumstick gone. Of course you can't see the other two drumsticks he already polished off before this last bite.

Grandma Marianne's V-day Card

You can't hear it very well, but it starts out going "boom boom, boom boom" kind of like Conan the Barbarian. Edison really enjoyed it, over and over. But his reaction his time was different, and more priceless. I wonder what he was thinking.

(If his doesn't work, I will have to upload the video again later.)

Who is that Masked Man?

Edison likes to try on Edy's things. He got hold of her swim googles.

Edison Rockin' the Duck Boots

Dang he's cute.

Edison is very Excited when he gets to drive.

From early his year.

Remiss in Posting

I seem to go in waves, but am going to try and catch up. These are a few from my Christmas shopping trip with Edy. Lunch and riding the carousel.
