Edys first ballet performance

As an early birthday gift from grandma Tonjia Edy got to go see a live ballet performance. The first part was more modern but the second half was the finale of Sleeping Beauty. Edy loved it and sat through both parts mesmerized. Her review after the second part was done was that there was too much of the guy and not enough of princess aurora aka sleeping beauty. Thanks Grandma Tonjia!

Don Ho and I went swinging this afternoon and had a rocking good time. I'm very proud of that last candid shot, though I kind of got myself out of frame.

Edison's Frenotomy

Edison had his frenotomy today. (A frenotomy is where they cut the piece of tissue that connects too much of the bottom of your mouth to your tongue, which restricts movement of your tongue.) It went OK in the grand scheme of things. We were at the office for 2 hours even though the actual procedure took only 10 minutes.
They quadruple swaddled him, put his face under a bright light, and snipped. I think Edison was more upset at being immobile and having someone's fingers in his mouth than the actual snipping. It was the most upset he's ever been, as evidenced by the broken blood vessels he popped around his eyes and on his forehead due to straining so hard.
Momma whisked him outside as soon as it was done, and he calmed down pretty quickly. He even managed to smile at me when I came out and saw him. He took a nap after eating when he got home, and is sleeping now for the night. He's been a little fussy, but still ate 5 helpings of salmon, 3 helpings of bread and 5.5 oz of breastmilk before bed, all with sore tongue. He is impressive.
The doc said she expected no future issues, the bleeding wasn't bad and she said there were no major capillaries cut, so hopefully all will be healed up soon.
Momma made it through OK too, I think she was not far behind Edison on the trauma scale. She only had two helpings of salmon though, and we'll see how well she sleeps.

Easter Eggs!

A little bit of a late post, but not that late! On Saturday, we colored a dozen eggs for the Easter Bunny to hide in the morning. For Easter, we had two egg hunts - one at our house when Edy got up, and another at the Hoffman's along with a big Easter brunch. I think Edy liked Easter better than Christmas. Presents AND hunting for eggs. Oh boy!

Warmer Weather Coming

Last week it got a little warmer, so Edison and Edy and I got to the park. Edison seems to like to swing.

Edison is sporting a brand new tooth poking out from his lower right front gum line. He refuses to let us get a photograph of it yet, this was the best I could do.
